Our Fourth of July Party

We had a wonderful time celebrating our country's birthday with friends and FOOD! Boy, did we have a ton of food from everyone.  Take a peek below at some of my favorite memories from this year's fourth of July Party!
L-R: Ashleigh and Ryan, Elizabeth and Matt, Everyone in the Pool

Yummy Fourth of July Food

                                    Kaitlin, Me, Paige, and Elizabeth

                                Kaitlin, Paige, and scarred Yogi
Our poor scarred puppy dog didn't like the tons of people nor did he like everyone in the water.  He stayed up on the deck most of the day and Kaitlin and Paige were his best friends since Kaitlin brought him treats and Paige was a familiar face.

H54F: Fourth of July Week

Happy Friday everyone!  Today is especially nice for me since I get to spend it with my husband.  He has the day off after the holiday!

I am linking up with Lauren Elizabeth for High Five For Friday!

1. On Monday night, I decided to cook my favorite Chili recipe.  Even though it's summer, I still enjoy this warm, hearty meal.  With only four ingredients and a handful of spices, it makes for an easy weekday dinner!
2. Danny and I spent time in the man cave watching RAW this week.  I am slowly getting used to watching wrestling with him.  Marriage is all about compromise, right?
3. Danny and I made a quick trip to the store one night and came home to this image.  The cats are usually not allowed on any kind of table, so to come home to them like this was funny to us.  We were able to snap this pic before they realized they weren't supposed to be on the table.
4. This is Yogi and I before everyone arrived at our house for our Fourth of July party.  We were sitting on the hammock in our backyard.  He is starting to get used to it and I like spending time cuddling with him on our hammock.
5. We bought a flag and some other patriotic decorations for the Fourth of July party.  I am so glad we have a U.S. flag now that we can put up on our flag pole!

Happy Birthday America!

Happy fourth of July to all my friends and family! Today we are celebrating with a barbecue and pool party at our house with some of our closest friends.  Since I don't have any patriotic photographs yet, I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes that is Independence Day inspired.  I made it last year for me and Danny for breakfast.  I wish I could have made it this year too, but with all the grocery trips for the party, I forgot to get the ingredients for it.

Patriotic Toast

Take a piece of wheat toast and spread cream cheese on it.  Then add blueberries in the upper left corner for the background of the stars.  The rest of the toast should be spread with strawberry jam and then slice up a banana and place them in straight lines to resemble the stripes.  Not only does this breakfast represent our country's flag, it is downright delicious!

Happy Fourth! Its a good day to be an American!

Less than 70 days!

This weekend Danny and I visited my parents in Columbus.  After the holidays came and went quickly like they do every year, we knew that we would have to hunker down and actually get some wedding tasks crossed off of our list or we would be stuck doing everything at the last possible second.  Since we are getting married in Columbus, we usually have our wedding weekends in Columbus and stuff it full with everything we can possibly do for the wedding, and this weekend was no different.  We met with our venue contact this weekend to finalize plans.  I didnt think I would be having this meeting for awhile, but unfortunately the Country Club that we are getting married at closes for the month of Febrary and this was the only time that we could make this meeting. The whole country club was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful.  It was hard to believe that in 70 days, Danny and I would become husband and wife at that very place.

After the meeting, it was craft time.  My mom, being the crafty woman she is, helped me with my ideas for the escort cards and other important items that needed to be put together for the wedding.  We were on to Hobby Lobby and ended up working on a variety of dyi projects that we found on Pinterest.  I can't wait to see the final results and I hope my plans come together.  With less than 70 days left, this wedding will be here before we know it!

Reasons why I know my wedding is getting close:

-Diet and exercise regimes are in full swing
-I just scheduled my first dress fitting for later this month
-Danny is dreaming about the honeymoon
-Response cards have been filling our mailbox
-We just had our final appointment with the venue
